Join Pride Sports League and Capital City Pride for a Let Love Serve Volleyball Tournament that will benefit the Trans Mutual Aid fund. ALL proceeds will be donated. We will be setting the tournament up as a power pool, and we have divisions for both Novice/Beginner, and Intermediate/Recreation. Spiking will not be allowed in Recreation. For a full list of rules please see this link. Each match in the pool will be one game to 25 with rally scoring (you must win by 2), and you play each team in your pool at every stage. Fees are $100.00 per team, everyone will play 6 games, and each final pool will have a winner.

A quick FAQ:

1. Should I sign up for recreation or intermediate/advanced?

-Intermediate advanced players should have at least a couple of years of previous experience on organized teams and may have played in some weekend tournaments. Players will be expected to have the basic fundamental skills in place and be able to demonstrate them on a consistent level. Spiking is allowed and encouraged!

-Recreation players should expect players who normally play just for fun, or have little to no experience. Players should have a basic understanding of volleyball, but focused more on practicing fundamentals and getting the ball over the net, and less focused on running plays. Spiking is not allowed in the recreation division.

2. What is a power pool?

Once sign up is complete, teams will be placed in a pool of 3 teams total. You will play each team in your pool, and move on to a second pool based on where you finish (1st, 2nd, or 3rd). All second place finishers in the initial pool will play each other in the second, and again a third time. We will play three rounds, and final pools will determine prizes.

3. Can we donate more to the Iowa Trans Mutual Aid Fund than our 100.00 entry fee?

YES PLEASE - we are exploring ways to encourage this at the tournament.

4. Can we bring in food and drinks?

The Sands has a bar that will be open with both non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, so you may NOT bring in your own. You may bring in your own snacks.

5. I don't want to play, but can I come support and watch?

Absolutely - we will have our area clearly marked on the evening of the tournament, come out and say hello!

6. Who can I look for on the day of if I have a question?

Look for PSL board members wearing an orange wrist band and we can direct you to the right place!
